M&M's Predictions
Today and yesterday Mr Johnston and the class focused on the M&M's history and the color puzzle (missing blue). We all put in the first slide that talked about each person in our groups personal thoughts about the M&M's. First to start with (yesterday) we predicted how many treats/M&M's in each/per packet/pack. Why do you think our M&M's look big and is full of air instead of being filled up with the treats? is it because we need to keep the freshness in or to make the packet look big so many people could buy it?

Kiwi Can Relfection
Today at kiwi can, the value we learn about was Accountability. Our kiwi can leaders talk and teach us about good values like:
Confidence, Attitude, Respect, Excellence and Innovation. The value 'Accountability' means taking responsibility for you own actions, owning up to your mistakes, speaking clearly, focusing on school work (staying on task not going on game sites), being self managed by posting work you need to post on your blog, being set up for success (being organized by keeping chrome book charged), being on time for tech, remembering to bring PE uniform. The challenges we faced were: 2 truths 1 lie (honesty), Copy me (leading by example), our school GKQ and green light. Our kiwi can leaders are Mrs Lily and Mr Matt.

Divide Strategy - Maths
Today our maths focus was to use the division strategy to solve math jigsaws. I found this strategy confusing. But as I worked through it with my group I started understanding and knowing how to use it. If you use this strategy you might get into a twist! In my Digital Learning Object (DLO) I have written in how I solved the puzzle, the strategy using maths language and the word problem.
My E-mail to Mrs Wells - A science teacher at Tamaki College
Yesterday, I e - mailed an expert in science who name is Mrs Wells. I asked her a few questions about the immune system. Her and her class are still finding out about the system. She is probably the first scientist I've ever had a conversation with! Above show the screenshots I've taken while e - mailing her yesterday and today.

Colloquialism and Slang - Definitions and examples
Today for reading our group (Waiheke) were focused on reading a book called 'The Fall'... The book talked about a young boy called Zac. His personality is very similar to mine. He is an impatient, risk taking, competitive, no brainier and doesn't think before he acts. After that we created a DLO telling and giving examples so that the reader isn't stuck on trying their best to understand what it means/defines. I worked with Nyjah, Fui, Joshua W and Joseph.

CARE Awards - Teaching Junior Student How To Blog About Their Learning
Today Mckenzy and I were working together to blog her DLO about her student led conference that took place on Thursday the 7th of June. I helped her use her past tense and powerful vocabulary. This helped improve Mckenzys confidence in blogging. She found this quite hard to do but as she carried on writing I felt like she knew everything about blogging!
My Comment on Mckenzy's hard work - Great work Mckenzy! you are improving more and more each day in class! keep blogging and never give up on your goals...

Kiwi Sport
Yesterday on Thursday group B went to kiwi sport rippa rugby. I learnt all about side stepping. Side stepping helps you improve your rugby skills. This skill helps you get away from your partner in a blink of an eye. We then practiced how to do a little twist so that you end up the same direction as running straight. When I had a go at it I almost fell! in my head I would say "why did I even think of doing this!".... My question is "how hilarious was it once you tried something new?".
Kiwi Can Reflection
Yesterday at Kiwi Can, group B were learning and focusing on the topic 'integrity' our theme was 'role models'. I learnt that a role model is someone who is trustworthy, caring, shows respect, makes the right choices, who we want to be in the future and who leads by example. I trust and respect my parents and grandparents because they were the people who've cared for me, raised me and taught me how to make positive decisions in life and shown me to try even though I come to hard life living decisions. Who do care about and is trustworthy, respectful and encouraging?

Adjectives, Adverbs and nouns
This week for writing Joel and I created a character description using adjectives and nouns. We all worked together to highlight nouns, adjectives and adverbs (action words). My favorite adjective word is 'suspicious'. I learnt that a 'noun' is a name of something, somewhere and someone. An 'adverb' is an action word or doing word. Finally an adjective is a describing word. The adjective describes the noun.
An Example:
E.g 1: The girl ran to her mother - One with the noun only.
E.g 2: The girl ran quickly to her mother - This example has an adjective and a noun
E.g 3: The girl ran quickly looking suspicious to her mother - This example includes an adjective and noun...
5 times tables strategy
Today in math our focus was to use the five times tables to solve times table problems! I didn't know we could use this strategy to solve these times table puzzles out! I have found out that I can use this strategy for multiplication, addition, subtraction and many more! this strategy can be used for any maths puzzle.

Tech - At Tamaki College
Today at tech we rotated to different subjects. Our group went to cooking with Mrs Tu'ipulotu. She taught our group how to follow instructions and and to read the ingredients on the board. We all got into pairs and Mrs Tu'ipulotu numbered us from 1 - 8. I was paired up with Kanye. We used S.R flour (Self Rising Flour), three measuring cups, serving spoon, spat choler, oil, eggs, milk and a frying pan to fry the pancakes. First we filled 1 whole cup and 1/2 half a cup of flour and tipped it into the baking bowl/measuring bowl. Then we filled a whole measuring cup of milk and poured it in. Kanye sifted the ingredients together to form a thick mixture. After that we got our serving spoon out and scooped up one by one of the thick pancake mixture and put it on the frying pan the first one turned into a burnt one. The others then turned into a golden brown looking pancake. I wanted to save some for my friends and mum. When we got back I ate something else rather than the pancakes.
