Today during maths we were practicing our times tables using Transum. Using Transum I managed to get every single answer for the 9 times and 12 times right! just for warm up I did my 2 times tabels. I think Tables Master/Transum is a great math game site to go on if you'd like to practice your tables, addition, subtraction and divided bides. The slowest answer I got was 13 x 13. I think you should try the site too!...
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Ms Kirkpatrick and Mrs Anderson.

Te Hui Summary
Today Fui, Savelina and I completed our reading task. This summary is about a book called Te Hui - The Meeting.
Kiwi Can
Today at Kiwi can our theme was 'Having A Positive Attitude' and our catch phrase was If you argue, sort it out, don't shout and work it out. The main focus of today's lessons were following the rules. The teachers were Mr Latu, Mr Matt and Miss Lily. We all got into a circle and were called into numbers (I was number 2). So if Mr Matt/Mr Latu called out number 2 (my number) I would speed/power walk around the circle and walk through my hole (the place I stood/sat at) and jumped into the hoop, if there was a person that jumped into another persons hoop they'd be out or if they'd be the last person into a hoop they'd also be out. And the other games we were playing was ball tag.

Maths Screencastify
Today I completed the task that was set for me (maths screencastify). The task was to create a google presentation to show how to use the place value strategy. This task was easy to do but the hard thing about it was that there was a lot of noise in the background, so I had to speak a bit more louder. As you can see I have written my maths story and used the place value strategy to solve the maths problem. Thank you and please leave some feedback behind in the comments.

Chinese New Year Explanation
Chinese New Year is special to the Chinese culture because everyone comes
together to celebrate and spend time with each other. Each year is named
after an animal. This year is the year of the dog. The dog represents
responsibility and seriousness.

Chinese New Year is when all the families come together as one. They make
egg rolls, shrimp and noodles. In China the egg rolls represent the bars of
gold, the shrimp represent the happiness and the noodles represent long life
(if the noodle is long that means you will have a long life but if you cut it
you will have a short life). During this festival people give
Hong Bao to children and unmarried adults. In this red envelope there is
money to symbolize good luck and wealth.

People around the world celebrate Chinese New Year on the first
new moon of the year (which lasts for 15 days). On the last day they
light their lanterns to remember the ones who have passed on and to keep the
bad spirits away.

Each year we celebrate one of the 12 animals of the Chinese New Year.
There are 12 animals because the Jade Emperor didn’t know which animal to
choose so he set a race to see which order the years would be celebrated in.
This year we’re going to be celebrating the year of the earth dog. If there is a
person born in 2018 he/she might have the personality of an earth
dog, eg: would be responsible and serious.

Yesterday we were learning about how people celebrate the Chinese New Year. As Magenta and I are in different writing groups we both worked together to write the explanation. We got a piece of paper and vivid to write down some ideas and notes about the Chinese New Year. What we learnt was the greeting "Kung Hei Fat Choi and there was a dragon called Nien who attacked the village and scared all the people and animals, the came a wise man called the Jade Emperor. He told the small village the dragons weaknesses. They were loud music, fire, fire works and the colours of red and gold.

Blog Post Analysis
Today I have completed this weeks activity. The chart shows how many blog posts I have completed each year. Our class firstly created a google spreadsheet. Then we all created a chart showing how many posts/blogging we've done over the years. In 2015 when I just started I was introduced to posting and blogging I didn't even know how to blog until I was taught how to do it.

Show Me Don't Tell Me...
I heard splashing and birds singing in the trees.
I heard the sound of the tree leaves falling of twigs.
I felt excited about how fun it would be swimming in the salty ocean.
I saw palm trees swaying side to side.
I felt like I was going to explode because of how hot it was.
I wondered if I would get the chance to swim for a very long time.
I wondered if I would get my ice cream in time.
Today for writing we were given an activity that is similar to the game 'Rittles'. The purpose of this activity is to show don't tell. You have to give clues to where you are like for example a theme park (rainbows end), pools and the beach. Guess where I am... To know where I am read the clues and find out...
